Flowers!

We know you've always wondered what Spökelina's favorite flower is. You can stop wondering, it's a flower called Gullviva in Swedish, and it's Latin Name is Primula Veris.

Gullviva is a cute little yellow flower that also happens to be the official flower of the municipality where Spök-spök and Spökelina are from!

Film-tajm!

Here's another film tip, this time it's Spökelina who's recommending one of her favorite movies of all time! It's called The Science of Sleep, and it's adorable!

You've probably already seen it, but if you haven't, and if you like cute things (you know you do!), then check it out!

The gigantic hands is one of Spökelina's favorite scenes!

Friends Are Friends!

Sometimes we unwittingly get into themes with what we're most excited about sharing with you all. For a while it was snacks (We're always excited about snacks!), then fan mail, and now it's the best thing of all: friends!

We just get so excited when Spök-spök and the gang makes new friends!

Thanks to adrenalyn-x for the photo!

Goodbye... Hello!

Recognize our new friends?

They're the official Olympic mascots from Beijing!

Thanks to Ming's aunt, Spök-spök and the gang has them as friends to play with. They're very athletic and there's been lots of tumbling fun here at Spök-spök HQ!

Spök-spökology 102!

As most of you know, Spökelina is Spök-spök's best friend in the whole wide world. She's very friendly, and her other best friend is Toofhairy, who came to Sweden from Scotland to work as an au-pair toof, but that's another story for a rainy day.

Spökelina also has a secret admirer... A grumpy secret admirer... But that's also another story, for a sunny day.

Spök-spökology 101!

As you might know, Spök-spök is from Sweden. He used to live in the big old castle in Örebro, but now he spend most of his time traveling the world together with Spökelina. They've been to many places, and they take a lot of photos from their travels. If you keep an eye out, you might even find Spök-spök in your own city.

If you do, remember to say hi and give him a hug!

Dajm Pie!

When Toofhairy got to IKEA she was a little hungry so she had herself a snack.

Well ok, two snacks! Dajm pie is Toofhairy's favorite Swedish food.
In fact, everyone here at Spök-spök HQ is a big fan of the pie that is Dajm. That's why she brought some home for us!

Spök-spök and Spökelina ate most of it, though.

A Toof Ride!

Toofhairy and Spökelina are best friends. She knows that even though Spökelina and the rest of us Spök-spök crew love our new home in NYC, there are some things we miss about Sweden. Friends and family top the list, of course! But next are some special foods! So, when Toofhairy heard a trip was being planned to visit the Sweden Store at IKEA Brooklyn she decided to go get some special treats for her best friend!

She stowed away in a bag while no one was looking.

It was her first time on the subway!

New York, New York!

The Spok-spok Headquarters have officially moved to New York! This is where you'll find us from now on, and we promise there will be tons of stories coming up from our adventures in the big city!

Story #1: We saw Jay-Z's car the other day!

Exciting!

Colors! Colors! Beautiful colors!

Does the Toofhairy mini in a limited edition pink version sound interesting? Keep an eye out, and we'll tell you more soon...

More fan mail??? Whaaat!!!

We've posted a lot of fan e-mails recently, so why stop now. :)

I got a toofhairy for my niece, she is losing a tooth. My sister had me pretend to be the toothfairy on the the phone. I am having it sent right to her house. I can't wait for her to get it because she is really cute...and I know she will love it!

Here at the Spok-spok headquarters we LOVE getting Spok related stories sent to us, so keep sending them in! You find the e-mail thingie here on the blog to your right. ->

A Toof For A Toof!

The emails are still coming in. Everyone is getting in their entries to the photo contest before the deadline. It's a lot of fun going through all the great photos! Not all the emails are about the photo contest though. Here's another fun one:

My boyfriend was out roller blading in the park and tripped over a construction cone. Luckily it wasn't too bad. But his face was all scraped up and he broke both his front teeth. :( I got him a Toofhairy to cheer him up. Thanks Spok spok!

We at Spök-spök want to know: was that "construction cone" blue by chance?

Spok Care

We've been getting a lot of email here at Spök-spök HQ. Some are just giggles and rainbows, a lot are entries for the photo contest, and yet still others contain pressing questions in the Spök-spök world, such as this one.

I actually might have to wash Spok-spok somehow because he's covering it in his drool and snot. Any ideas on how to wash this precious toy?

We recommend spot washing with a cloth dampened in cold water and mild detergent. Unless, your particular Spök is super crusted in drool and/or snot. Then you can give him a bath in cold water. Brrrrrr!

Weekend Adventures!

This weekend Spok-spok and Spokelina went down to the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market. It was fun! They saw lots of neat things and met a puppy.

Spokelina even got some pins from the 50's!

Memories...

Writing about travel made us look through our photo album, and we found these pictures from the Lapland trip. It was a great trip, where Spok-spok and Spokelina ran around the mountains above the tree line (so far up north no trees grow there!), we also saw reindeer, and enjoyed the midnight sun.

Some of the pictures from the trip can be found in the book Dot Dot Dash, published by our friends at Die Gestalten Verlag (where you can also buy the Spok-spok plushies)! It's a great book, you should check it out!

The Baron was also there...

A travel tip of the Spok-spok kind!

As you might know, Spok-spok and Spokelina are avid travellers. They've crossed the arctic circle when they went to Lapland, and they've been to the Caribbean when they went to Culebra, one of their favorite places in the whole wide world is however Tiveden. Tiveden is a deep forest in Sweden, where trolls and moose alike roam the moss covered ground.

The reason Spok-spok and Spokelina like Tiveden so much is that one of the lakes, Fagertärn, is covered in red water-lilies. Spok-spok and Spokelina think that is beautiful.

Flott!

Have you seen Elling? It's one of our favorite films here at Spok-spok HQ. We like it so much we watched it twice in one weekend!

Elling the character is also responsible for one of our favorite sayings around here. One day when Kjell Bjarne comes home with some groceries Elling exclaims, "Flott, Kjell Bjarne! Flott!"

Roughly translated flott means "plush," as in luxurious and wonderful. We like to use it a lot because everything at the Spok-Spok HQ is plush! Get it? :)

History is fun!

Recognize the castle on Sir Rainbowbelly Von Castleback's back? It's the Örebro Castle!

It's in the center of Örebro. Spok-spok and Spoklina lived there, but then something happened (more about that later) and they had to leave. At first Spokelina was quite sad, but then Spok-spok reminded her that they could do all the traveling they want to and visit their friends all over the world.

The Good Sir!

In case you missed the Plushform show at Rotofugi, here's a peek at the Spök-spök contribution. The show is over, so this is the only way to get a glimpse of it. :)

He's named Sir Rainbowbelly von Castleback. Guess why!

A Spok-spok kind of story!

Spok-spok just received an e-mail from a fan, telling us about how Spok-spok helped learning her baby boy to walk.

I kid you not, my son is OBSESSED with Spok Spok. It's by far his favorite toy. He just lights up when he sees it, grabs it, and snuggles it -- giggling the whole time. And it was Spok Spok that encouraged him to start walking -- I would sit across the room from him holding Spok Spok, and he'd get up on his feet and walk across the room to come get Spok Spok. So thanks to you guys, he learned to walk!

That is so heart warming!

When the Toofhairy minis hit the shelves in a couple of months, kids might actually learn how to fly! ;)
